The Last of Us is coming to an end, after a first season that has achieved extraordinary success. On Monday 13 March on Sky (and streaming on NOW) the last episode of the series will be broadcast in a subtitled version which will close the first part of the story of Joel and Ellie. There is great expectation for season 2, of course already confirmed by HBOwhich will bring to our screens the plot of the second chapter of the Naughty Dog video game. Craig Maturewho had already shown his talent with Chernobylthe series that reconstructed the true story of the heroes Ananenko, Bezpalov and Baranov, will collaborate again with Neil Druckman to keep the soul of the story intact even in the new episodes. The return of has also been confirmed Pedro Pascal e Bella Ramsey, who will reprise their roles. In the eighth episode the actress, whom we had met in Game of Thronesgave us a chilling performance and made us realize that she is the right person to play Ellie in season 2.
Apparently another scene was filmed for 1×08 of The Last of Uswhich starred Ellie and James, which was supposed to be very intense.
Anyone who has played the Naughty Dog video game will remember well Troy Baker: he was the actor who played Joel in the video game version. Like many other actors who participated in the making of the video game, he had the opportunity to make a cameo in the HBO series. Troy Baker then found himself playing James, the member of a community that in her time of need she relied on a charismatic preacher, who hides a horrible secret. Ellie in this episode found herself colliding alone with the monstrosity of men and she came out extremely changed from this meeting. Bella Ramsey he shot some very strong scenes together with David’s interpreter, Scott Shepherd. Troy Baker in an interview with Deadline revealed that he too had shot a particularly intense sequence with Bella Ramsey, but which unfortunately was cut from the final cut. Here’s what he said about it:
“Ecco something people will never see and only exists in my memory, and I both love and hate it because they are so talented; it’s scary. So, Ellie is locked in this cage, and this is a scene that got cut because we didn’t need to in the plot. David is having a conversation with Ellie, and then he’s interrupted by my character. James walks in and asks, “Can I have a minute with you?” And David says, “Yes.” So, David leaves, and in this scene, not scripted at all, I look at Ellie with a fierce look. And every (take), it became this wordless war to see who would win this short fight and every time Ellie won.”
