As reported by PEOPLE, Will Smith tried to contact Chris Rock to make amends privately, but failed to do so. While the actor publicly apologized to the comedian several times, including in a video made a few months after the incident in which he explained what had happened and felt great remorse for what he had done, Rock he still seems embittered by the actor. He recently clarified that he’s still not over the slap during the Netflix special titled Selective Outrage. In the final minutes of the special, Chris Rock not only reproached a Smith of slapping him at the Oscars, but also pointed out his family issues with his wife.
