Percoco – il primo Mostro d’Italia tells of the massacre carried out by the young Franco Percoco against his own family, at the dawn of the economic boom. The film will be in Italian cinemas, as a special event, in April.
Percoco – the first Monster of Italy – psychological true crime based on the true historical tragedy of the first Italian family massacre of the ‘900 – will be presented in competition at Bif&st 2023 – Bari International Film&TV Festival – 26 March. After the transition to the Festival, the film will be available, in Italian salt, previewil April 13thto then be distributed as special event only the 17, 18 and 19 April.

Percoco – the first Monster of Italy will then be presented in world premiere the March 26in the section ItaliaFiilmFest/New Italian cinema of the Bif&st, which will be held from 24 March to 1 April. The film, as mentioned, tells the tragic story of Franco Percocoa young man from a petit-bourgeois family who, in the night between 26 and 27 May 1956, killed his parents and younger brother with a knife, then living together for ten days with their corpses. The film focuses in particular on a precise period of time, those fateful ones ten days in which – not yet discovered – Percoco lives “happily and damned”enjoying the joys of the newly born economic boom, gradually transforming from a good boy into the monster who exterminated his own family – as can also be seen from the official synopsis:
The true story of the first Italian family massacre of the twentieth century: Franco Percoco. In the night between 26 and 27 May 1956, in Bari, he exterminates his family with a kitchen knife and starts a new life: from university student to rich viveur, savoring all the joys of his admirable time, that of the economic boom , living ten days with the corpses of his parents and brother walled up in the house. No murderer had ever lived so long with his victims up to that moment.
Directed by Pieluigi Ferrandinithe thriller is based on the novel Percoco by Marcello Introna (published by Mondadori). To give life to this intense story we find then Gianluca Vicari – in the title role -, Giuseppe Scoditti, Rebecca Metcalf, Federica Pagliaroli, Laura Gigante, Francesca Antonaci, Fabrizio Traversa, Antonio Monsellato, Pinuccio Sinisi, Raffaele Braia, Pietro Naglieri, Chiara Scelsi, Elena Cantarone and Michele Mirabella.
