Mare Fuori, we think of the French and Spanish remakes of the TV series
Unstoppable success Sea out on RaiPlay: in February they amounted to 105 million views generated by the title on the public service video on demand platform. The rest of the world is also beginning to observe the phenomenon with interest Sea Out. The series – distributed internationally by Beta Film – has already landed, with the title of ‘The Sea Beyond’, in various foreign countries such as Germany, where it appears in the Disney + catalog.
As reported by Variety – the bible of global entertainment -, France and Spain would be thinking of two local adaptations of sea out, and they would already be in talks with Beta Film regarding the acquisition of the format. If the two projects go through, in a few years a French and a Spanish version of Sea Out. France and Spain are undoubtedly more similar to Italy from a cultural and sensitivity point of view, and share with our country a certain propensity for the dramatic register which would well allow, for a story like that of sea out, to adapt to the Iberian and French contexts.
