Jordan, conquers the top of the US box office with $58.6 million collected in 4,007 theaters, and an average per theater of $14,638. At this rate, Creed III is poised to become the highest-grossing Creed saga title in the US targeting 150 million, surpassing Creed’s 109.8 million and Creed II’s 115.7 million. In fourth position debuts the Japanese anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the village of the Katana Forgers, which secures an opening of 10 million grossed in 1,774 theaters, with an average per theater of 5,703 dollars.
Fifth was the Christian drama Jesus Revolution, directed by Jon Erwin and Brent McCorkle. Based on the book of the same name, the film follows youth minister Greg Laurie and Pastor Chuck Smith as they take part in the Jesus movement in California in the late 1960s. Another 8.6 million take the film with a religious background to a total gross of 30.5 million.
