Creed 3 knocks out the American box office by conquering the public and scoring a record debut of 58.6 million.
Creed 3 does not disappoint expectations and marks the best opening of the franchise as well as the best opening for a sports film ever. The third installment of the Rocky spinoff saga, marking the directorial debut of protagonist Michael B. Jordan, conquers the top of the US box office with $58.6 million collected in 4,007 theaters, and an average per theater of $14,638. At this rate, Creed III is poised to become the highest-grossing Creed saga title in the US targeting 150 million, surpassing Creed’s 109.8 million and Creed II’s 115.7 million. After two weeks at the top of the box office, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania slips into second position and collects another 12.4 million which brings it to a total of 186.8 million. The collection is still guaranteed for Marvel even if Ant-Man 3 has so far been guaranteed worst reviews for an MCU movie. Third place for Cocainorso. The mad thriller directed by Elizabeth Banks grossed another 11 million dollars and reached the total gross of 41.2 million. Inspired by the true story of the 1985 plane crash in which a drug courier loses a shipment of cocaine and a brown bear eats it, this vicious dark comedy stars an outlandish group of cops, criminals, tourists and teenagers who find themselves in a forest in Georgia, where a huge predator weighing 230 kilos has just ingested an impressive amount of cocaine and is prowling around looking for more drugs… and blood.

In fourth position debuts the Japanese anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba – To the village of the Katana Forgers, which secures an opening of 10 million grossed in 1,774 theaters, with an average per theater of 5,703 dollars.
Fifth was the Christian drama Jesus Revolution, directed by Jon Erwin and Brent McCorkle. Based on the book of the same name, the film follows youth minister Greg Laurie and Pastor Chuck Smith as they take part in the Jesus movement in California in the late 1960s. Another 8.6 million take the film with a religious background to a total gross of 30.5 million.
