Episode 1×07 of The Last of Us slowed down the story of our two protagonists a bit, going back in time to explore the story of Ellie and its relationship with Rileywhich saw the actress in the role Storm Reidespecially the fateful night they were bitten by an Infected ed Ellie discovered his immunity. Although he was praised for his attention to covering the smallest details of the setting and for the interpretation of Bella Ramseythere may be an even more exciting episode just around the corner.
The eighth episode was the lead actress’ favorite to shoot
In a recent interview with Vogue, Bella Ramsey reflected on both how divisive the season finale will be, and his experience making The Last of Us of HBO. Looking specifically at the footage from the upcoming Episode 8, “When We Are in Need“, the actress of Ellie revealed that it was his favorite to shoot, citing the emotional nature of the story in the episode:
“It was…exhausting. But they were some of my favorite days on set. It sounds really masochistic, but it’s the scenes that break me that I love the most, in a way.”
After episode 7, which made us live the last moments of Ellie con Riley in the form of flashbacks, episode 8 will return to the current story, with the protagonist still struggling to find a way to help Joel recovering from the stab wound. Her efforts will lead her to meet the David (interpreted by Scott Shepherd), a preacher and leader of a local group of survivors who want the young girl to join his community. The situation will be tense between the two since Ellie he won’t trust the rest of the armed survivors, who are also worried about bringing another “mouth to feed” in the group.
Beyond Shepherdit is confirmed that episode 8 will see the long-awaited arrival of Troy Baker in the role of second in command of David, James. Baker he is best known for being the original voice and motion-capture performer of Joelwhich makes him one of many original stars to get back together with Ashley Johnsonwho will play the mother of Ellie in an unknown episode, e Merle Dandridge in the role of Marlenewhile the original actor of the character of Tommy, Jeffrey Piercealso appeared as a new character.
With the trailer for the eighth episode of The Last of Us largely focused on Ellie and that shows Joel still not at full strength, it seems likely that this will be another story centered around Ramsey.
Those familiar with the games will no doubt understand the references the actress alludes to in her comments, but since it’s unclear where Season 1 will end, it will be interesting to see if the episode ends on a major cliffhanger putting Joel on a war footing.
