Created by Kurt Sutterthe television series Sons of Anarchy follows the criminal actions of an outlaw biker gang operating in a fictional town in California’s Central Valley. First aired in 2008, the TV series lasted for seven seasons before concluding in 2014. The series also inspired a spin-off, Mayans M.C.which is expected to conclude after its fifth season later this year.
Theo Rossi has apparently referred to a new SAMCRO project
During a recent panel discussion for his latest crime thriller Emily the Criminalthe actor Theo Rossi he hinted at a potential project that would involve Charlie Hunnam and the rest of her former co-stars from Sons of Anarchy. As reported by Deadline, when a Rossi was asked if the project could take the form of a film, the actor simply smiled and replied: “It’s totally different. It’s really cool“. Here is the complete answer:
“There might be something coming where we all get back together, which is crazy. Charlie (Hunnam) will be announcing something soon. If it happens, it will be crazy, but if it doesn’t happen it would be perfect and really cool because we talk every day too.”
Following many of the story elements presented in the classic 17th century play Hamlet, Jax Teller interpreted by Hunnam he was a tragic hero in the same vein as Shakespeare’s famous Danish prince.
Motivated by his father’s death and driven to criminal deeds, the epic trajectory of Jax culminates in self-sacrifice for the sake of those around him. This link has been further strengthened by Sutter when it followed the death of Jax with a final flash of the logo of Sons of Anarchy and a quote from the play itself.
Despite the definitive end of Jax, Hunnam expressed a desire to return to the role of the character. In October of last year, the actor hinted that he has an idea for a potential comeback. The question that remains is how the character might make a triumphant return after the series finale hinted that he crashed his motorcycle into an oncoming semi-trailer.
While the body of Jax was never shown and may have faked his death, another option may be much more in line with the show’s Shakespearean roots. Sutter has already expressed his interest in a sequel series exploring the children of Jax, Abel e Thomas: Teens may get to know their father better through flashbacks. Since even the character of Rossi, Juicewas killed during season 7 of Sons of Anarchy, his return would give more credibility to this theory. In any case, speculations arise as to what Hunnam he planned for his return to SAMCRO.
