The actor will appear in an episode of the new DC series of The CW.
Doug Bradley will play one of DC’s most famous villain in the new series of The CW Gotham Knights. The iconic Pinhead from the famous horror saga Hellraiser will appear in one episode as Joe Chillresponsible for the death of Bruce Wayne’s parents, an episode that triggers the latter’s quest for revenge and justice, thus leading to the birth of the avenger we all know as Batman.
Gotham Knights: The plot of the new TV series
Airing in the US from March 14, Gotham Knights imagine a Gotham City without its main protector. In the aftermath of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his wayward adopted son forms an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for the murder. Now labeled Gotham City’s most wanted criminals, this band of renegade misfits must fight to clear their respective names. But in a city without a Dark Knight to protect it, the situation appears more perilous than it has ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected places, as this ill-matched team of escapees will become his next generation of saviors. A team known as the Gotham Knights.
Doug Bradley will be Joe Chill
It’s clear that Joe Chill changed Gotham City irrevocably when he cruelly shot Thomas and Martha Wayne. In Gotham Knights, after 50 years rotting away on death row, Joe Chill is about to be executed. However, the ‘Patron Saint of Villains’ has no intention of taking the secrets he holds to the grave with him.
“When we launched the casting call for the iconic role of Joe Chill, arguably the man who created Batman, we had only one name in mind: Doug Bradley,” said the creators and executive producers of Gotham Knights Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux e Natalie Abram in a statement. “We needed an actor with that solemnity capable of doing justice to such a seminal character in the DC Comics canon. And who better than the man whose legendary portrayal of a classic demon – Pinhead in the franchise Hellraiser -, who continues to terrorize generations of horror fans, to play the role of another classic demon?”.
