Jeff Davis loves epic endings. For this reason the ending of Teen Wolf: The Movie – streaming from February 23 on Paramount + also in our country – ends with the death of Derek Hale. The character played by Tyler Hoechlin does not survive the events of the feature film. For a returning protagonist – Allison Argent, played again by Crystal Reed, is resurrected – there is a hero saying goodbye. Forever? Who knows.
“I made the decision to give Derek a hero’s death early in story development,” says Jeff Davis, who adds: “Convincing Tyler Hoechlin wasn’t easy, but he too then realized it would be the best thing for his character”. On Dylan O’Brien’s absence, Davis confesses that, if the actor had decided to return, a plot was ready for his character that would have seen him still linked to Lydia (Holland Roden). “At one point Dylan seemed to want to make an appearance, but when even that possibility fell through I realized that we had twenty other characters to play with for this film” admits Davis.
The author recently returned to the world of werewolves with Wolf Pack, the new series from February 23 on Paramount +. The world of Teen Wolf is that of Wolf Pack they are two very distinct universes that will not meet, Jeff Davis is keen to underline, who jokes: “We leave crossovers to Marvel and DC, it’s their bread and butter”.
