Plot of El club de los graves, what the tv series is about
The series stars Amaranto Molina (Carlos Vives), an unconventional music teacher who arrives to teach in a school specializing in music education, governed by old formulas that leave out students who do not meet the standards set by commercial success . The director of the school, Eduardo Kramer (Julián Arango), chooses five students each year – nicknamed “Los Agudos” – to be part of the school’s prestigious Teen Band. Molina, then, is assigned to teach “Los Graves”, the group of students who are excluded from the selection because their talent does not meet the market standards. With his disruptive methods, the eccentric teacher will take charge of “Los Graves”, embarking with them on a transformative musical journey that will help him heal the wounds and inspire each of the young people to express their unique talent, finding together a hopeful direction common. At the same time, they will discover the mysterious past hidden by the professor.

Composed of ten episodes of 30 minutes each, the Colombian production for young people not only presents a lot of music, but also tackles, in a cheerful and optimistic tone, topics relevant to the public such as the transition from adolescence to adulthood, the power of teamwork, music as a means to find one’s own voice and reunion with oneself by reconnecting to what we are passionate about. The series was filmed in Bogotá and made by TeleColombia for Disney+. The direction is entrusted to Jorge Navas.
