Very true, Levante’s story about being a mother
On the stage of the Sanremo 2023 Festival she brought the difficult topic of postpartum depression, however, receiving various criticisms. But for Levante motherhood was an experience that she didn’t think could change her so much, so she had decided to take part in the singing festival, the first event after the birth of her daughter Alma Futura, in which she had taken part. TO very truewhere she was a guest of Silvia Toffanishe expressed herself, stating that in this Festival it was not themes like hers that won, but that of love:
“The theme that has won is that of love: the representation of grieving men and fighters. While those like me who have faced different themes, have not hit the mark. I have questioned many things about myself. In the last year I have felt fragile. That stage put me to the test with myself. After the performance, in fact, I went backstage and cried. I had recovered myself.”
The birth of her daughter was joyful for her, but also very difficult to deal with, due to postpartum depression, a theme – as she underlined – that is often trivialized:
“I no longer recognized myself in my head and in my body. But I want to reassure all present and future mothers: you come out of that darkness, you are reborn and you become stronger. I didn’t want to become a mother, I was focused on myself. But It was the right choice I could have made.”
