In the splendid Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan, we tasted delicacies from Season 2 of Dinner Club and talked about the new episodes together with Carlo Cracco, Paola Cortellesi, Antonio Albanese, Luca Zingaretti, Marco Giallini. From today the series is available on Prime Video with the first 4 episodes.
The Second Season of Dinner Clubinnovative food travelogue Original of Italian production with the starred chef Charles Craccoarrives today, Friday, February 17, exclusively on Prime Video with the first four episodes, while the fifth and sixth episodes, titled, will also be available from February 24th After Dinner.
As in the first season, a Cracco in version Indiana Jones brings famous film actors to discover the beauties and culinary traditions of our country. Each episode is dedicated to a journey and an actor, who Cracco transported, often in makeshift means, to the mountains or by the sea, in the countryside and along the rivers, reawakening their spirit of adventure and leaving them the task of preparing tasty dishes.
The protagonists of Dinner Club 2 I am Paula Cortellesi, Marco Giallini, Antonio Albanese e Luca Zingaretti. The two “veterans” also participate in the series Luciana Littizzetto e Sabrina Ferilli. The latter, which won the last edition, lavishes severe culinary reviews.
Se Marco Giallini & Co. visited remote corners of our boot in the torrid summer of 2022, the press that deals with cinema and TV series, and therefore with Dinner Club, instead sipped excellent bubbly in the splendid Villa Necchi Campiglio, a historic residence in Milan as well as a museum house. Invite you to participate in the Dinner Club Experience, we too were able to taste some of the delicacies of the new season of the show, sitting around elegantly set tables. Right in front of us, sat the protagonists of Dinner Club 2ready to tell us about their trips in search of Italian flavors in the company of Charles Cracco. It was he who introduced the Second season, explaining that he greatly appreciated the part dedicated to the dinner which brought together all the participants and which “seemed to go on forever”. Italy’s most famous chef adored the means of transport that the production made available, admitting that the most unfortunate, during the first season, was Lucianina, who got an old camper. We, who have seen the trailer of the new episodes, found the motorbike with attached sidecar that Monsieur brought fabulous Cracco e Luca Zingaretti around Romagna.

Il Inspector Montalbano of tv was one of the happiest contestants to have participated in Dinner Club: “I had fun like I rarely have in life. I started this adventure a little scared, because I didn’t know the code of these situations, in which there is no preparation and you have to react to what happens to you along the way. It was a fantastic journey – we met amazing people and got to know the area – it was fabulous to see Carlo at the stove and contribute to the preparation of the dishes, so much so that from that day on I had a passion for cooking. I learned many tricks: for example the secret to not making the sauce too watery…”.
Zingarettihowever, was the victim of a nasty joke, even if in the end he won: “You should know that, before starting, the people in charge of the series ask you if you have any allergies and if there is something you just can’t eat I said: ‘Everything is fine with me, except the innards, especially the brain, I can’t do it.’ One evening, that wretch over there (Cracco) he made a joke of me, because he made me taste the brain cooked in a wonderful way, a little crunchy: I really licked my fingers and it was a fantastic and very funny surprise”.
A Marco Giallini Instead, Eastern Sicily has fallen into the lot, and the promo of his episode makes you laugh, especially when, in a desolate land full of watermelons, the actor comments: “What a mess are we here for among the watermelons?!” . The Rocco Schiavone of the TV he complains, joking, that he often went on an empty stomach: “I didn’t eat practically anything, because as soon as I started, immediately there was someone shouting: ‘Let’s go!’. So I armed myself with a tote bag, in short, I did the take away, and ate on the way”.
The word then switches to Paula Cortellesi, who was perhaps the person who made the most uncomfortable journey and ate the heaviest, spiciest and tastiest foods. The actress had the honor of sleeping in a tent on the roof of the car together with Charles Cracco. With him and an eighty-two-year-old gentleman she went for mushrooms and she tasted fried pig’s ears. The worst thing was hearing jokes from Charles Cracco. “She started right away, before we set off on the road”- she recounts. “With Carlo we had met on a couple of occasions and we hadn’t gotten to chat much, and that’s why I agreed to share this adventure with him. Instead, when we met before leaving, he made a couple of terrible jokes, and then I loved him, and whoever loves you tells you the truth, because I’m all good to compliment you, Carlo”.
Then the Cortellesi best describes his culinary trip: “We did challenging things, for example we crossed a river, we walked for a long time, I enjoyed hiking to places I didn’t know. The Sila is magnificent, there were little flies that they pinched.I still don’t know what species they belong to, but we were on cortisone, all except Carlo. We ate very well, we even sang. Finally, we tasted the famous sacchieddu, which is like the Pan di via degli hobbit: you eat a small piece and you’re good for a month”.
When he was in Calabria, Charles Cracco he even competed with a local boy to see who ate the most hot peppers. The chef won, and then with Antonio Albanese he went as far as South Tyrol, and let himself be persuaded by the actor to fish. The two did not catch anything, according to Albanese because of the cameras. that frightened the fish:
“South Tyrol is a place that I knew very little about” – he says Antonio. “It was wonderful to meet rare people, like a boy who ages cheese in a First World War bunker: we bowed to him and his enthusiasm. We chatted with a nice little man who managed to exhume the goat with glasses, and therefore he saved a race. We discovered products, explored the territory. We used a suppressed one to shoot: a jeep that had been abandoned for decades and of infinite inconvenience”.
In a scene from his episode, Antonio Albanese he doesn’t seem happy to have a mountain of mountain pine on him. Here’s what the actor says about it: “For the tourist who doesn’t behave as he should behave, there is the mountain pine. You are lying down and, with a shovel, a very strong woman throws 30kg of mountain pine at you, and you tell her to stay still. After 10 kg your chest starts to hurt and you say: ‘Madam, I can’t’, and she says: ‘No’, so ”it’s a certain hardness.
After the stories of food and excursions, also the protagonists of the Second Season of Dinner Club sit down at the table, and all together we enjoy some dishes cooked during the 6 episodes, including artichokes with cream cheese, a fish arancino, squares of sponge-like cake with red fruit jam, sushi with cheese instead of raw fish. And then coffee, biscuits, rivers of wine and, in the end, the slightly tipsy video interviews with Antonio Albanese, Charles Cracco e Luca Zingaretti. But that’s another story…
