Sissi 3 will be there
Yes it will Sissi 3. The second season of the broadcast ended on Wednesday 4 January on Canale 5 Sisi, RTL costume fiction that revives the myth of the iconic Empress. Will there be a third season? On Wednesday 15 February RTL broke the delay by confirming the making of other episodes. Definitely being tailed by a rival series – we refer to The Empress of Netflix – will not please the producers of this series which debuted in 2021.
What we can see from this sequel series about her life is that the figure of Princess Sissi continues to win millions of viewers around the world more than three decades later, demonstrating that the television appetite for her legend continue to be present. From this point of view, the third season had the road paved, but we had to wait for an official announcement from RTL.
When does Sissi 3 come out?
Now that the official ok from RTL has arrived, we expect the third season to debut towards the end of 2023 at the earliest, most likely in December of this year. The production should start between April and August 2023 if you want to replicate the methods of realization of season 2; the first take should therefore take place at the gates of spring and involve locations such as Latvia, Lithuania and Poland.

The release should take place once again during the holidays, therefore we expect to see the third season in prime time on Canale 5 in December 2023 and – a few days before – at home on the RTL+ platform in box set.
Sissi 3 plot
The third season of the TV series with Dominique Devenport will continue to retrace the events of the beloved Empress between real events and poetic licenses adopted to facilitate the television story. The second season interrupts with the coronation in Budapest of Sissi and Franz, who become king and queen of Hungary on June 8, 1867.
Missing from the appeal – of the television series, of course – about twenty-three years, or those that pass from the coronation to his assassination, which took place on September 10, 1898 in Geneva, Switzerland, at the hands of the Italian anarchist Luigi Lucheni. The third season, therefore, certainly has a lot of material to draw from and we can’t wait to find out what the next chapter of the saga will be like. Sisi.
How Sissi 2 ends
In the second season finale, The war against Prussia is lost, Franz returns from the front wounded in body and in self-esteem. Convinced of Sissi’s infidelity, he sends her to Hungary, with full powers to grant a free parliament and a constitution. The Diet of Hungary approves the Austrian proposal, but only on condition that Franz is proclaimed King of Hungary wearing Stephen’s crown. Nobody knows where the crown is, except Ödön Körtek. The man is in prison, suffering from cholera. Sissi meets him and persuades him to reveal the secret, but she becomes infected, and soon finds herself dying. Franz runs to her. Sissi wants to live, she heals. Franz is crowned with her at her side.

We speculate that it will be about two months from the debut of the next season globally. In the meantime, here’s the second one:
