Sanremo Festival: Blanco under investigation on charges of damage
“I couldn’t hear through the headphones, I couldn’t sing. But at least I had fun, that’s music too” he explained later Blanco.
The investigations started from the report made by Codaconswho had immediately presented a complaint to the Imperia prosecutor’s office and to the Court of Auditors:
“Beyond the vulgarity of the gesture and its inappropriateness, having destroyed the scenography of the Festival could lead to real crimes. Article 635 of the penal code in fact establishes that “Anyone who destroys, disperses, deteriorates or makes, in whole or in part, unusable movable or immovable property of others on the occasion of events taking place in a public place or place open to the public is punished with imprisonment from one to five years”.
“In addition to the criminal aspect, the destruction carried out yesterday by Blanco has produced evident economic damage to the citizens: the Ariston scenography is in fact paid for by Italian users who finance Rai through the license fee, and the damage to vases and flowers has caused a waste of public money that the artist will now have to compensate. For these reasons, Codacons is today asking the Imperia Public Prosecutor’s Office to open an investigation into Blanco in the light of the possible crime of “damage”, and the Court of Auditors to initiate the necessary actions on an accounting level aimed at obtaining compensation from the artist for tax damages.”
