After the huge success of the first season of the football series, Apple has decided to renew it for two more seasons. There has always been the idea by the creators of the show, Bill Lawrence and Jason Sudeikis, to tell the story of the bumbling coach through three cycles of episodes. Fans were therefore resigned to the fact that the upcoming season would close the story arc of their favorite series. Also Jason Sudeikis he confirmed that he was aware of the fact that the story of coach Lasso needed only three seasons to be developed. Channing Dugney, the president and CEO of Warner Bros. In an interview given to Deadline he said the two co-creators might be willing to take the story further. Here are his words:
“Jason Sudeikis and Bill Lawrence’s initial vision was to develop the series into three seasons. Then I think it becomes one of those things that as you go along, of in love with that world and those characters, so it becomes difficult to say goodbye”
Warner Bros. Television Group CEO revealed that, faced with the great success that the series has achieved, the two co-creators may have changed their minds. We don’t know if the series will be officially renewed for a fourth season, but there’s a good chance it will. Just for this purpose the writers have written an ending that closes the story, but also leaves a small door open to be able to continue showing the adventures of Ted Lasso in the event of a renewal. “The third season ends beautifully. If this is the ending, I think the fans will be very happy and excited. But there’s also a way to leave a door open. If we’re lucky enough to be able to do more, then we can move on“.
