Who really killed Cagliostro? We find out the answer during the first season, when Leonardo’s colleague and best friend, Valerio Lorenzi, begins to be blackmailed by some criminals who manage the prostitution racket in which he is involved.
At this point that once friendly figure now tries to tarnish Leonardo making him appear as the mole in the situation. Lorenzi’s plan fails, however, and in despair he pours out on Anna.

This alarms Leonardo convinced that he is reviewing the scene of his vision, but there is something different.
Later, in fact, after that Paulet e Rambelli arrest Lorenzi, the investigations continue until Cagliostro discovers that his killer: Stefano Rambelli. He killed him, a trusted man that Cagliostro had always revered as a father and for which he would have been willing to do anything.
The deputy commissioner is therefore responsible for the death of Cagliostro, killed because his investigations into drug trafficking were getting too close to his son, personally involved in the matter. During the fiction, Rambelli’s spirit has the opportunity to talk to the ghost of Cagliostro, apologizing for the harm he has done to him and finally crossing the Red Door.
