How it ends The Red Door? It ends with the eighth and final episode the final chapter of The Red Door. During the episode we learn of Anna’s death that, shortly after the explosion, she finally manages to pass through the Red Door before the helpless eyes of Cagliostro. At this point Leonardo and Vanessa join forces once again to discover the woman’s killer.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Paoletto starts the police investigation, while Cagliostro and Vanessa are the first to notice a recording of the concert which shows a connection between the attack and Luka Levani. The latter, in fact, wore a jacket depicting a gecko, a symbol of the drug trafficking that had involved Trieste. So Anna, realizing this clue and wanting to report it immediately to the police, is soon killed by that bomb.
In front of this discovered Vanessa she is ready to avenge Anna by killing Luka, but Leonardo manages to stop her in time, thus preventing the girl from ruining her life. But there is a price to pay for this gesture by Leonardo. In fact, to prevent her from pulling her trigger, Leonardo he is forced to push the girl over a railing causing her to fall onto a steel platform. Vanessa then falls unconscious, while the police arrive ready to arrest Luka Levani.
After a few tense moments, Vanessa finally opens her eyes smiling at Leonardo, while Luka has no choice but to turn himself in for Anna’s murder, even though his aim wasn’t to kill her. That tragic bomb, in fact, was only supposed to be a warning sign for Meyer before things took a completely unexpected turn.

Following Levani’s arrest, we finally discover the truth behind the link between Leonardo e Vanessa. The answer dates back to a long time ago, when Cagliostro was only a rookie policeman and was investigating a drug trafficking run by Luka. When the situation got bad, and Vanessa’s father was risking his life, Leonardo got in the way to save him, thus getting the bullet instead of him. Therefore, it was Luka Levani who killed him.

We are approaching the last moments of the red door, those in which Vanessa reveals that she is still in love with Filip, thus deciding to officially get back together with him. But that’s not all, because the girl is also ready to take custody of Cagliostro’s little daughter now that even her mother is gone.
Thanks to her powers, the girl decides to have Leonardo and her daughter meet one last time. Thus we come to the moment highlight of the episode, the one in which Cagliostro, still with some unresolved thoughts in his mind, prepares to cross that door. This is his latest investigation. Fortunately, however, waiting for him on the other side there will be his beloved Anna.
“Because if it’s true that there is no end in life, in stories, on the other hand, yes.” With these words we say goodbye forever to the exciting saga of Leonardo Cagliostro.
