For the promotion of his new thriller Knock on the Door, M. Night Shyamalan stopped in Rome. We met him by putting him in front of the same questions posed to him 6 years earlier, to understand how different his answers would have been.
A thriller by M. Night Shyamalan it’s not just any thriller. It is a thriller by a 52-year-old American director of Indian origin who carries the burden of having made a masterpiece in 1999 entitled The sixth sense, when he was 29. From that moment on, the public’s expectations towards him were very high. Sometimes he has been able to satisfy them, sometimes his specialty has turned against him. The desire to tell stories full of tension, on the verge of the paranormal and with a twist at all costs, has in some cases proved to be a trap. In general what he saved Shyamalan it was his knack for building suspense and now that he’s more mature, he’s able to juggle with more awareness of what can work and how it should work.
About his new film titled Knocking at the doorit is up to you to judge the experience by going to see it from February 2 in cinemas.
