Robin is the protagonist of The Brave and the Bold, one of the new films announced by James Gunn as part of his DCU and which will launch the new Batman.
James Gunn has finally shared with fans of the DC universe what’s cooking. After occupying the chair of co-president together with Peter Safran and having toppled some of the recognized pillars thus far, James Gunn is ready for revolution. During a dedicated press conference, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy announced that a film starring Robin. Is titled The Brave and the Bold and promises to broaden the focus on the team of Batman.
The Brave and the Bold, Robin stars in a new DC film
Based on the iconic comic by Grant Morrison, The Brave and the Bold will be a great starting point for introducing Batman to the new DC phase. James Gunn and Peter Safran have no intention of cutting Matt Reeves from the Bat Man universe, as well as Robert Pattinson who played him in the first The Batman. Ma Damian Wayne in parallel will have an indispensable role to launch Batman in the Phase 1 of the DCU.
This is the introduction of the Batman to the DCU. It’s not Robert Pattinson, it’s not Ben Affleck. With Robert we are working on The Batman 2 together with Matt Reeves. Ben Affleck, on the other hand, wants to be part of the team that will put the pieces together. He wants to direct one of our projects and we are happy to oblige. But this is a story about Damian Wayne, the real Batman son that we didn’t know existed for the first 8-10 years of his life. He grew up as a petty delinquent, he’s a hoodlum and he’s my favorite Robin, based on the Grant Morrison comics which is one of my favorite Batman series. We’re putting it all together right now.
It therefore seems that The Brave and the Bold will start from comics by Grant Morrison to portray the character of Robin, who grew up without a father and was initiated into criminal activity. The film will allow father and son to reunite. Peter Safran then added that the film will involve other members of the Bat-Family. “This is a feature film, so it will introduce other members of the extended bat family. We feel they’ve been left out of Batman stories in theaters for far too long.”
