Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, from theaters to Disney+ via IMAX
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever by Ryan Coogler, which cost 250 million dollars, has collected 842 worldwide, which seem few only if compared to the current 2,120,000,000 dollars of Avatar: The Way of Water. The film was a particular challenge, as it was obviously built by the co-writer and director on the protagonist Chadwick Bosemaninterpreter of T’Challa in the Marvel Cinematic Universewho died prematurely in 2020. Coogler and the producers didn’t want to replace him with another actor, so the story turned into a real mourning processing by the other characters (especially the female ones), a gamble that can be said to have won.
As happens with many films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are Disney+Black Panther Wakanda Forever is also introduced in IMAX formati.e. col aspect ratio of 1.90:1instead of the cinematic 2.39:1: there is no cut, because the shots of these blockbusters are conceived for both destinations, and it is perhaps believed that the first solution, ready regardless for giant screens, ensures our televisions 16 :9 (1.77:1) more imaging and much less black letterboxing.
