Have you ever wondered When and how did your passion for TV series originate? If not, you clearly haven’t joined our Hall of Series – Recovery Community yet. In fact, this week we asked our very active members what it was THE TV series that was the first to ignite the flame of seriality in them, bringing them closer to this unpredictable world and triggering in them the unprecedented and irrepressible curiosity to immediately move on to the next episode. In the pre-streaming platform era, being a fan of TV series wasn’t as obvious as today; if we are all here, we owe it to (one or more) TV series that mark our livesprobably discovered by chance in the television schedule or watched after school with friends and never abandoned. We bet that among these listed it is also found your first TV series of the heart?

It is well known, first love is never forgotten! So let’s find out the answers of our Community to the question of questions: here are the 10 TV series that score for most of the members of our Facebook group.

10) The O.C

The O.C (640×360)

Aired in our country since 2004 to 2007 on Italia 1, The O.C accompanied the afternoons of millions of viewers, many of whom would later become the tv series addicted of our Recovery Community.

The O.C remains to this day one of most popular teen dramasbecoming a real cultural phenomenon e cult TV series of the 2000s. The faces of its protagonists Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) and Seth (Adam Brody) were on the walls of any bedroom, between the pages of diaries and on the covers of all the hottest magazines of the period. The exploits of Marissa Cooper (Misha Barton) have been the main one for years trend topic of the intervals between the corridors of the school, then transforming that fixed afternoon appointment into a real passion for television series.

It doesn’t surprise us at all that The O.C has been indicated among the TV series for many members of the Community, who have laid the foundations of their devotion to the binge watching right between the streets of Newport Beach.

9) Prison Break

And the prison drama par excellence and it is managed to teach us the value of family in the most adrenaline-pumping way possible: among the most significant TV series for Hall of Series – Recovery Community there can be no room for Prison Break.

Aired from 2005 on Italia 1, Prison Break managed to condense the theme of prison life with the psychological deepening of its inmatesbringing to the small screen a concentrate of action, thriller, suspense and depth. Considered by many to be the very first favorite TV series, through its complexity Prison Break lived up to its tag line perfectly: escapism is just the beginning.

In fact, that was just the beginning, considering where we are now.

8) Witches

“The very first Charmed followed by Dr. House! In fifth grade we were already role-playing and I was Piper”

This is Claudia’s testimony directly from our Facebook group, which demonstrates how much Witches has been particularly significant for many members of our Community (and not only).

Aired on Rai 2 from 1999 to 2006, Witches is considered among most popular fantasy series evera milestone for all lovers of the genre and still the subject of countless rewatchso much so that it is considered by many to be a real guilty pleasure almost as much as role-playing games (team Phoebe Halliwell come forward!).

7) Friends

Friends (640×360)

If you look for the word “sitcom” in the dictionary, it will appear Friends. It is probably the most emblematic TV series of the 90s, the most famous ever, the most loved by entire generations and among the most important TV series for many members of our Community.

Friends it immediately became a real mass cultural phenomenon, influencing the style (and even haircuts) of its fans around the world. There isn’t anyone in the world who hasn’t seen at least one episode of Friends, nor a room of any person who grew up in the 90s in which there is not at least one gadget of the most iconic sitcom of all time, without which many other comedy TV series would never have seen the light of day. Do you really need to add more?

Cult television series between the 90s and 2000s, ER – doctors on the front line and the medical drama most loved of the small screen as well as among the most accurate in the description of the clinical pictures of his patients, e first TV series to have entered the hearts of many fans of television serials.

Set at County General Hospital of Chicago, ER – doctors on the front lines he followed along for good 15 seasons the life of the group of doctors and nurses involved in the most diverse medical emergencies, devotedly testing their skills to save lives. Among these we remember a very young man George Clooneywho achieved fame thanks to his role as a pediatrician Doug Rossprobably inspiring not only TV series fans but also many future doctors.

5) Buffy

Buffy (640×360)

The first TV series that I followed seriously (indulging in the absurd times of Italia 1), looking for news on the internet (when we still connected by selling a kidney for every minute of connection, as well as becoming deaf from the “whistle”) and buying the DVD (in the comic store and they cost a kidney too) was Buffy… I’d certainly seen others before, but never with the same passion.

There couldn’t be more explanatory words than those that Laura shared with the other members of the Community.

Produced between 1997 and 2003, Buffy was for many fans of the genre, the first TV series to have stolen his heart. Recognized by Tv News come “the most memorable series broadcast by the Warner Bros broadcaster, as well as third overall in this ranking after Star Trek and The X-Files”, Buffy has marked us all deeply and, if we are here to talk about TV series, we also owe it a little to the most iconic vampire slayer of the small screen.

4) X-Files

X-Files (640×360)

Established itself without too much difficulty as a cult series and sci-fi television classic, X-Files not only is it among the TV series for lovers of the genre, but it is also the greatest source of inspiration for many subsequent works.

Aired from 1993 to 2002 and then from 2016 to 2018, X-Files was the point of reference for many participants in our survey, loyal supporters of agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) and their investigations into particular cases of paranormal origin. There is no sci-fi product that hasn’t passed by X-Files and no member of our Community who wouldn’t keep watching it over and over again.

3) Twin Peaks

Considered one of most influential TV series in the history of television fiction, Twin Peaks is the mother of all series, marking and dividing the history of the small screen into before and after Twin Peaks. It can only be among the most significant and significant series for anyone who has ever approached the serial universe.

For many it was their very first love, for other members of the Community it became so at a later time, as Claudia pleasantly recounts:

“I watched Twin Peaks when I grew up (I was about 25) because as a child my mother didn’t let me watch it…”

Whichever generation you are part of and whatever your favorite TV series is, we advise you to follow Claudia’s example and recover what is in all respects a piece of pop culture and television history of all time.
