The Greek Pantheon of the Percy Jackson and the Olympian Gods series is enriched with two other figures, thus defining the triptych of the “Big Shots”.
After having indeed accepted Jay Duplass (Industry) as the ruler of the Underworld, the cast of the Disney+ show recently found the two interpreters who will portray the bearer of the mythical thunderbolt, as well as the head of all deities, and their respective brother, whose domain extends on the seas.
Indeed, it was announced that Toby Stephens (Black Sails) e Lance Reddick (Fringe) have officially boarded the project, preparing to portray the father of the protagonist, Poseidon, and the mighty Zeus, respectively.
He spoke about the two castings Rick Riordanauthor of the literary saga from which the project draws its inspiration, who declared:” When we finally meet Poseidon towards the end of the first season, exactly like in the novel, Toby is truly amazing. As he delivered some of the character’s iconic lines, I shivered. And seeing him and Walker (Percy) together, you might actually believe they’re father and son.”.
He later added:In all of his roles, Lance instills an aura of authority and power, making him perfect for the role of the ruler of Olympus. As I told him when we met, he transmits so much gravity around him that it could cause the planets to go out of alignment, and when he shows Percy Jackson his displeasure… wow, wait until you see that scene”.
All that remains is to wait for the news that reveals the debut date to be able to see both give life to these iconic characters on the screen.
