The singer had already disappeared from social networks in August and for months there had been no more news of him. Then, the 39-year-old reappeared to announce to fans that he had contracted covid twice and had been in hospital for four months. Visibly slimmed down and tried, Pasqualino Maione he then told in a video posted on his tiktok profile what happened.
Apparently, the covid left him with an acute form of meningitis which was diagnosed when it had already affected the brain and bone marrow, but it seems to have been caught in time:
“They saved me in time. Now, I’m fighting a long battle against this disease. And no, I haven’t gained weight, if you see me like this, it’s because of the cortisone and the medicines I’ve been taking for months. The Vanvitelli doctors treated me in time “I’m currently in therapy and they’re trying to get me better as soon as possible. But there’s still a long way to go.”
Following the video, many wrote to him to testify their closeness and many messages of good and speedy recovery reached him. The singer thanked everyone and against those who, as always, could not refrain from criticizing him for having made his condition public, he decided to reply:
“I also spoke because it is right to inform and to do it in the right way. Sometimes, we go back to being a little bit like a child, partly to forget the present and partly to also be carefree and naive. Thank you all so much for the comments and the messages of comfort you are sending me. I really embrace you.”
