We shouldn’t be surprised, yet it happened like this: the video game sales of The Last of Us they are back on the rise. Probably the hand is the live-action adaptation which, at the moment, also sees the second episode of the television series aired.
Despite the criticisms received in recent months (both for the somewhat dubious casting and for some changes made to the plot, such as that of the absence of spores), the product conceived by Neil Druckmann e Craig Mazinis grinding record after record – as well as being approved by world critics as the best adaptation of a video game.
The first episode, which aired on January 15, surpassed Breaking Bad in the main ranking of IMBd, with a vote of 9.5 stars, making it conquer the first place in the ranking of the best series ever. But the show nearly broke another record: pilot episode viewing has recorded on HBO Max 4.7 million viewers on the first day of launchalmost reaching the broadcaster colleague House of the Dragonwhich only totaled 9.7 million viewers.
Yes, ok, but so how did the video game come back to climb the sales charts?
Well yes: The Last of Us 1 has returned to being purchased by gamers, perhaps for all that we have mentioned above.
The Naughty Dogs video game returned to the UK charts at number twenty, with a 238% increase in sales! It’s not the only game that has seen the light though.
Even the remastered version for the Playstation 4 (which has now officially entered the retirement age), is seeing an increase in sales: let’s talk about the 322%, making it to position number thirty-two! Not bad for a game that now has ten years behind him.
Definitely the presence of live-action starring Peter Pascal in the role of Joel e Bella Ramsey in that of Ellie, helped the two versions of Naughty Dogs sell; this could mean that many viewers became curious after watching the two episodes and finally decided to give a chance to a story that won well 256 award.
Speaking of the live-action produced and distributed by the HBO television station and the HBO Max platform (in Italy available on Sky and the Now TV streaming platform), we do not know how much and what else will change in terms of plot: currently, in addition to the absence of spores, the news has been spread that the third and next episode will divide the fanbase of the video game: he was the same to admit it Troy Bakerthe one who dubs in the game Joel Miller.
