House of the Dragon, because Emilia Clarke refuses to watch the tv series
House of the Dragon it was undoubtedly the series that had the greatest impact on pop culture of 2022. Who seems immune to his charm is Emilia Clarke, old acquaintance of the television world taken from the novels of Game of Thrones. Talking with Variety during the Sundance Festival last weekend, Clarke admitted she hadn’t tuned in to the series prequel dedicated to the Targaryen dynasty – and have no intention of doing so in the immediate future.
“I just can’t do it,” Clarke confessed, adding: “It’s all so weird, really really weird.” After playing Daenerys Targaryen in eight seasons of Game of Thrones, between 2011 and 2019, Clarke does not seem particularly interested in the background that traces the defeat of the house of dragons of Westeros. “Can you forgive me?,” Clarke said, pointing out she’s happy that by Game of thrones other successful series are springing up.

In an attempt to articulate her thoughts on this matter, Emilia Clarke has used a simile. “Per me (guardare House of the Dragon) It’s like someone asking you to attend a high school reunion of people who weren’t in my class. Well, that’s how I feel. For this reason I am avoiding looking House of the Dragon”. According to Emilia Clarke, the series is in some ways too close to her experience with GoT, and for others too far away (being a creature in its own right) to be able to approach it as a mere spectator. Maybe the controversial series finale left a bad taste in her mouth?
