Apple has decided to cancel The Mosquito Coast after just two seasons. The starring series Justin Theroux will therefore not return to the Apple TV + digital platform.
Based on the Peter Weir film of the same name with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, The Mosquito Coast, starring Justin Theroux, Melissa George, Logan Polish and Gabriel Bateman, centers on Allie Fox (Theroux), a brilliant inventor and a stubborn idealist, uprooting his family in a perilous search for refuge from the American government, cartels and hit men.

The first two seasons, available on Apple TV+, are essentially a prequel to the book and film directed by Peter Weir. They created a backstory for Justin Theroux’s Allie as a “highly intelligent enemy of the state” and delved into the character of Margo, played by Melissa George, who goes by simply “Mother” in the book.
