The actor will not appear in upcoming episodes of season 11.
Station 51 will have to do without Lieutenant Kelly Severide in the next few episodes of Chicago Fire. Taylor Kinneythe actor who has played him since the inception of the hit series more than a decade ago, has taken a break from work to address a personal matter.
At the moment there is no more detailed information on the reasons that removed Kinney from the production and how long the leave will last. The cast and crew were notified of her decision just hours ago, and her sudden absence will almost certainly prompt script rewrites for upcoming season 11 episodes.
Kinney is one of the franchise’s most beloved faces One Chicago and appeared in all spin-offs – Chicago Med, Chicago P.D. e Chicago Justice. For the role he was nominated three times at the People’s Choice Awards, winning in 2015. For fans, his seemingly momentary exit from the scene is the hardest blow since the departure of the co-star Jesse Spencer (played by Matthew Casey) at the beginning of last season. Spencer was later reunited briefly at Kinney’s side in the finale of the same.
