Gossip Girl won’t go beyond its current second season: HBO Max has in fact decided not to renew the reboot TV series.
“We are very grateful to showrunner/executive producer Joshua Safran and executive producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz for bringing us back to the Upper East Side and all the Constance Billard scandals”HBO Max said in a statement. “While we won’t be moving forward with a third season of Gossip Girl, we thank them for the tantalizing love triangles, backstabbing, and flawless fashion this series has brought to new audiences.”.
“It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Gossip Girl will not continue on HBO Max”he has declared Safran in a message. “Thanks for watching, I hope you’ll tune in to find out the ending and see how it all wraps up”.
Safranwho also worked on the parent series before helming the reboot, hinted that this may not be the end for the franchise Gossip Girl:
“A big thank you to all the GG fans around the world. You’re the reason we came back, and who knows, maybe the reason we’ll meet again.”.
