The series has been aired on Sky and Now since 20 January Call My Agent – Italia, remake of the French Ten percent. Directed by Luca Ribuoli and written by Lisa Nur Sultan (and for two episodes by Federico Baccomo), the series created by Sky Studios and Palomar follows the story of a group of agents employed by the Claudio Maiorana Agency, the Roman stable of the most important protagonists of the Italian film and television scene.
“To create our version of Dix Pour Cent we started from the text. The most important thing was to understand what to keep in our adaptation, and how to make this story contemporary, since the original idea dates back ten years now. Have we felt a sense of responsibility towards the French series? Not really, we focused on making it our own and making it a project in its own right,” says the director Luca Ribuoli.
“The biggest challenge of this project? Bring out the characters of the agents and ensure that they were not cannibalized by the guest stars of the episode,” says Lisa Nur Sultan. Indeed, from Paola Cortellesi to Paolo Sorrentino – interpreters of an over the top version of themselves -, in the first season of Call My Agent – Italia some of the most important names in Italian show business appear. “Our four protagonists – Vittorio, Elvira, Lea and Gabriele – are so strong that, if we were to make an episode without a guest, the series would still stand. And this is the most important resultNur Sultan concluded.
