Gleethe TV series of Ryan Murphy, has returned to the spotlight these days after the docuseries was released, dedicated to the scandals and terrible tragedies linked to the actors in the cast of the series. In The Price of Glee several insiders of the series were interviewed who recounted some particularly dramatic episodes that happened behind the scenes. . Among the various testimonies present in the documentary, it also emerged another bad (alleged) backstory on the disappearance of Cory Monteith, the actor who died during the filming of the TV series.
According to a cast member, an actor from Glee may have caused the actor to relapse into addictions.
Cory Monteith interpretava il quarterback Finn Hudson, a boy capable of guiding and inspiring his teammates or the other singers in the school choir. While on stage we saw him so carefree and confident, behind the scenes, he fought an uphill battle with addiction to drugs and alcohol, for quite some time. Also thanks to the support of the mother and of Leah Michele, between March and April 2013 he had entered rehab again for treatment: once he got out of the clinic, he seemed to be better. But unfortunately on July 13 of the same year the actor’s body was found lifeless in his hotel room, surrounded by a spoon with drug residue, a used hypodermic needle and two empty champagne bottles. Three months later, the coroner certified death by overdose ofthe interpreter of Finn Hudson.
During the documentary The Price of Gleethe head of the series’ hair department blamed an actor on the show for causing Cory Monteith to relapse into alcoholism. Doug Kirkpatrick she recalled meeting the actor after he got out of rehab and seeing how he was working hard to stay sober. When she had last seen him, however, he had noticed that he was slipping back into his old habits. On that occasion Cory Monteith had told him that an actor from the cast of Glee during a party had persuaded him to have a drink. Here’s what she said Kirkpatrick in The Price of Glee:
“He wasn’t drinking, he had no drugs in his system. And then the last couple days I saw him, he was different. He was under the influence of alcohol. He told me that he had been to a party and that he hadn’t been drinking and wanted to have a drink, but he knew he shouldn’t have. And he was told by a certain cast member that same night, ‘You know, if you want a drink, you should have a drink. I’ll be here, you can always trust I’ll be here for you’. In my opinion, that’s not something you should ever say to someone who’s sober. And so that confused him and kind of pissed him off, and so he started drinking because someone gave him permission…”
The man did not want to name the actor of Glee.
