The two great protagonists of Everything Everywhere All At Once will reunite in the series for Disney+ inspired by the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang.

After the great success achieved at this year’s Golden Globes with Everything Everywhere All At Once, Michelle Yeoh e Ke Huy Quan are ready to reunite in the cast of American Born Chinese, an action-comedy inspired by the graphic novel by Gene Luen Yang.
The series will be directed by Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-Chi, written and produced by Kelvin Yu and his brother Charles Yu, in collaboration with the author of the original work, Melvin Mar and Jake Kasdan.
American Born Chinese will tell the story of a teenager, Jin Wang, struggling with his life in high school and at home, in an immigrant family. When the boy meets a new foreign student on his first day of school, he unwittingly finds himself drawn into a battle between Chinese mythological gods. It will arrive on Disney+ in the spring.

Kelvin Yu, who will be showrunner of the series, said: “Gene Luen Yang’s book is a staple in American literature and is profoundly important to an entire generation of readers. Destin Daniel Cretton and Melvin Mar are storytellers of the highest caliber imaginable. Being a part of the project is so exciting and a real honor”.
