The great actress from Campania Lina Sastri makes her directorial debut with La casa di Ninetta, which she also wrote and performed. We exclusively present the first image directly from the set.
A special film is being shot for Lina Sastrimuch loved interpreter of our cinema and theater, as well as a singer. Ninetta’s house it is her first work as a director, as well as a screenwriter and also a protagonist.
From a treatment of Valia Santella and scripted by the same Lina Sastri, the film is a story of women, told by women. Mothers and daughters, old and young, all revolve around the figure of Ninetta, charismatic and full of memories that gradually become confused due to an illness that does not grant hope. A story of life, “expelled” straight away, like a premature baby.
The film is produced by Salinaat the first film production, in co-production with Run Film And Rai Cinema, with the contribution of MIBAC and the Campania Region Film Commission. “It was not conceived, calibrated, suggested”, explains Sastri. “It came out like that, with the breathlessness, the pain, the surprise, the energy … or maybe it would be better to say the power you can’t wait”.
The plot of Ninetta’s house
Ninetta’s house is a Neapolitan fairy tale, the story of a sick old woman from Alzehimer, who inside her house talks about love, violence, family, pain, joy and finally Naples, mysterious and magical city, suspended between reality and imaginationbetween the present and the past.
The childhood, adolescence, youth and finally maturity of a woman, Ninetta, who kept secrets, saw what she did not want to see, loved without reserve, went through misery, fatigue and abandonment. Nevertheless Ninetta, mother courage in a post-war period without rules, knows how to sing every morning, knows how to invent the day, the pleasure of being away from the world, for herself, for her children, by nature, by nature. And he tells, exposes himself, gives himself, now painfully, now joyfully. As far as she remembers, as long as she can remember.
Ninetta is Lina’s mother and this is the story of a natural need, of an unavoidable necessity: to still feel “partakers” of life, alongside other human beings, despite the years, despite the illness that lets everything get out of hand.
