The film is a co-production of Lucky Red and Goon Films with Rai Cinema and in collaboration with Amazon Prime and Gabriele Mainetti plays the role of creative producer. Distributed by Lucky Red, the film is based on the blockbuster play of the same name by the same authors and is a dramedy that brings to the big screen the absurdity of an all-Italian law that prevents unrecognized children from knowing identity of the natural parents if not at the age of 100, the fateful century.
Sergio Castellitto and Valerio Lundini play two characters different in age, origin, culture and lifestyle, united by a single wound: they are NN, or two people not recognized at birth. Both sentenced by the so-called “100 Years Law” to an invisible life sentence.
The synopsis of the film reads: “An absurd law prevents Giovanni, a son not recognized at birth, from knowing the identity of his biological parents before his 100th birthday. In order to attract public opinion, the his only hope is to obtain the complicity of Gustavo, the only centenary not recognized at birth in life. The only one who would have the right to avail himself of this legislation but who seems to have no interest in doing so. The most beautiful century of my life tells the story of meeting between a centenary projected into the future and a young man anchored in the past and their unexpected friendship. “
