Tyler Perry, writer, producer and director of Sister Act 3, provides promising updates on the new sequel, which has been in development for several years.
Hope never dies: Tyler Perryproducer, writer and director of Sister Act 3, released promising updates regarding the long-awaited sequel. The film was in fact confirmed in 2018, 26 years after the original chapter, and since then there has been little news about it.
In a recent interview for The View, Tyler Perry said he “has a good script,” but that overall progress has been slow. The producer explained that he is currently trying to coordinate everyone for the project and make the team “move in the right direction”. In short, Sister Act 3 exists and will come to light, but it may not happen anytime soon.

Tom Federle has been cast to direct the new sequel, while Jenifer Lewis has stated in recent interviews that she is ready to return to her role after nearly thirty years. Sister Act 3 will probably create a story disconnected from that of the other chapters: Dolores Van Cartier will almost certainly be retired by her singing and she will perhaps be called by old friends to help them one last time. Obviously we can not help but wait for future updates on the production of the film, hoping that they are positive.
