The film is a Lucky Red and Goon Films co-production with Rai Cinema and in collaboration with Amazon Prime. Gabriele Mainetti plays the role of creative producer.
Distributed by Lucky Red, the film is based on the theatrical play of the same name, blockbuster, by the same authors and is a dramedy that brings to the big screen the absurdity of an all-Italian law that prevents unrecognized children from knowing the identity of their natural parents until they turn 100, the fateful century.
Sergio Castellitto and Valerio Lundini interpret two characters different in age, origin, culture and lifestyle, united by a single wound: they are NN, or two people not recognized at birth. Both sentenced by the so-called “100 Years Law” to an invisible life sentence.
The most beautiful century of my life: the official plot of the film with Sergio Castellitto and Valerio Lundini
An absurd law prevents Giovanni, a son not recognized at birth, from knowing the identity of his biological parents before his 100th birthday. To be able to attract public opinion, his only hope is to obtain the complicity of Gustavo, the only centenary not recognized at birth in life. The only one that he would have the right to make use of this legislation but that he seems to have no interest in doing so. The most beautiful century of my life tells of the encounter between a centenary projected into the future and a young man anchored in the past and their unexpected friendship.
