The official confirmation arrives: Esther Babington will not appear in the third season of Sanditon. The happy ending of the character played by Charlotte Spencer in fact it represented a real farewell from the show.
The PBS series will have to do without Spencer as the actress signed a contract for the BBC and Paramount + TV series, entitled The Gold.
The showrunner Justin Young explained that Sanditon 3 won’t have to explain Esther’s absence since “at the end of Season 2, she’s had everything she’s ever wanted: she’s happy, married, and has a child she adores, and its history can therefore be considered closed“.
We remember that Sanditon has already been renewed for a third seasonafter the second one recently aired in the UK and the US.
The release date of the unreleased episodes is still unknown, although we assume they will not be broadcast before 2023.
