Ramadan has ended these days and Marvel Studios wanted to celebrate the event by unveiling a new poster from Ms. Marvel.
“May this Eid bring strength, love and light.”
The symbols for the feast of the end of the fast are represented in the poster. The hands of the protagonist enclose one crescent moon with stars, which recall the symbol of the Muslim faith. In addition, the right hand is covered with a mehndi, a lucky tattoo traditionally performed with henna both in the East and in North Africa. The author of the illustration is Shehzil MalikPakistani illustrator and designer living in the United States.
With Iman Vellani who plays the young superheroine, the show follows Kamala Khan, who sees her incredible dream come true once she gains superpowers.
The series will also explore Kamala’s Pakistani legacy. Marvel Studios involved many Pakistani artists in the project, including Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. The director recently shared on her Instagram account, along with her new poster, Disney’s decision to distribute the entire TV series exclusively in theaters in Pakistan, since the country still does not have access to Disney +. Then MCU Pakistani fans will be able to watch the entire show in theaters from June 16, split into three sessions of two episodes each.
Ms. Marvel will be released on June 8 on Disney +.
