British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, also known for his civil commitment, has decided to host a Ukrainian family at home and to commit himself to helping the victims of the conflict.
That Benedict Cumberbatch is a great actor we all know, but many also know that he is a very sensitive and civilly committed man. This is why he decided to give a signal, hosting a family who fled the war in Ukraine at his home.
Benedict Cumberbatch will host a Ukrainian family who fled the war
Cumberbatch confirmed to Sky News the news that he is waiting to host a family of Ukrainian refugees at his home in England, with these words:
They managed to get out of Ukraine. I am monitoring their progress every day. Unfortunately, they are undergoing medical treatment. To say more would be an invasion of their privacy, and to say too much about when they will come and how we will handle it would invade mine. I want to give them some stability after the turmoil they experienced, and this in my home.
In addition to hosting this family, Cumberbatch he added that he is helping other Ukrainian refugees by covering the cost of their accommodation in the UK: “I am trying to help in this respect economically in a couple of cases.” In his BAFTA address last March, the actor called on Hollywood colleagues to get involved and politicians to build a safe haven for refugees.
