Director Hwang Dong-hyuk said at the MipTV event that his next Killing Old People Club project will be “another controversial film”. The filmmaker admitted: “It will be more violent than Squid Game”.
Hwang also joked that he may have to keep it hidden from the elders after distribution and the title used during the making is KO Club.
The Squid Game creator also added that he will be returning to South Korea soon to write the second season of the Netflix series that has set new records and hopes that the new episodes can debut in streaming by the end of 2024.
Dong-hyuk also talked about experiences related to the success of Squid Game, saying: “Steven Spielberg said to me ‘I watched your show in three days and now I want to steal your brain!’.
