Giancarlo Esposito back to the AMC network: Breaking Bad and Better Call star Saul will play the lead role in The Driver, a new drama coming to AMC and AMC + next year.
Based on a British series, the drama in six episodes will see Esposito as a taxi driver “whose life is turned upside down when he agrees to drive for a Zimbabwean gangster based in New Orleans known for exploiting undocumented immigrants in southern US ports,” according to the official description.
“Giancarlo is a singular talent who is already loved by AMC viewers through his extraordinary performances in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul,” said the AMC member Dan McDermott. “We are thrilled to continue his relationship with AMC and AMC + in a series built around him and an unforgettable character who takes what he thinks is a simple job opportunity and finds himself confronted with a world that challenges him in ways that he could never have imagined ”.
