“The greatest threat always comes from within. Never forget it “.
One of the most popular TV series of the Netflix catalog is the American thiller Ozark, who will be back this year with his fourth season.
plot and cast
The story embraces the events of a normal family with an apparently usual everyday life in a metropolis like any other. An average man with a decent job Marty (Jason Bateman), his wife Wendy (Laura Linney), cold but seemingly devoted, and two children, Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner), to complete the family picture. And then all of a sudden, everything breaks.
From Chicago, the family moves to Lake Ozark, in a tourist resort that is not very popular during the rest of the year. The reason is that a problem has to be fixed. Here then we discover everything about a seemingly normal family. The first season of the TV series is all in this paradox. Everything appears on the line of an apparent flatness, like the lake they land at, a dark and mysterious place of corruption and rot. The family has its altars that come to the surface slowly and become confused and unite with the evil that grows next to you.
The ups and downs go on in a crescendo up to the third season where the narrative becomes even darker, pitting everyone against everyone with a surprising ending, changing the cards again. The episodes are set six months after the events of the second season. Marty struggles to find the right balance between business and family safety, Wendy has now embraced her dark side, getting closer and closer to the Navarro cartel (Happy Sunday). Marty is kidnapped by Navarro to test his allegiance to the cartel, then Wendy, stressed out between work and family, must handle the arrival of her brother Ben (Tom Pelphrey), a frail man suffering from severe mental problems. Finally Helen (Janet McTeer), the cartel lawyer, is ready for anything and Ruth (Julia Garner) sides with Wendy and Marty.
The fourth season he will restart from Marty and Wendy, now united again, trying to understand how they will have to manage their relations with the cartel. Both are inside, together they are a family business and, for better or for worse, they will have to support each other. Big plans in store for the character of Ruth. The third season ended with the young Lagmore who ended the relationship with the Byrde family, starting a new life in the company. What will happen?
