Disney + has saved the series that will tell the attempt to make a remake of the film The Goonies that Fox had canceled after the pilot.
Disney+ saved the series, which Fox had given up after the pilot was made, centered around an attempt by a teacher and her pupils to shoot a remake of the film I Goonies.
The project had been abandoned by the network, according to the Variety website, because it was aimed at a target younger than the one it usually addresses with its own content.
On the show’s production team, which will be titled Our Time, are The Donner Company and Amblin.
Producer Clancy Collins White revealed that screenwriter Sarah Watson had worked hard to script the potential cult-inspired series The Goonies.
After completing the script, choosing the cast and completing the reading table, the pandemic blocked production for a few months. The pilot was then made and the producer revealed that it was a great project, but Fox did not think it was suitable for their audience.
