Earvin “Magic” Johnson’s life and career will be at the center of a new docuseries to be released for Apple TV +.
Earvin “Magic” Johnson will be the protagonist of a new one docuserie which will be produced for Apple TV+ and will chronicle the life and career of the basketball champion, two-time NBA Hall of Fame member and cultural icon.
The four parts that make up the project will be produced by New Slate Ventures and XTR.
The docuseries will trace the successes of “Magic” Johnson and the example that his life, both on and off the pitch, has shown to the eyes of the whole world. The humble-born boy, born in Lansing, Michigan, has become a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers, changed the way people deal with HIV, and established himself as a successful activist and entrepreneur. Featuring unreleased videos and interviews with “Magic” Johnson, testimonials from prominent figures in politics and businessmen, as well as those of his close circle of friends and family, the series will offer an unprecedented look at one of the greats of the world. sports of all time.
The docuseries will be directed by Rick Famuyiwa (Dope – Madness and redemption), with the editing by Dirk Westervelt (Le Mans ’66 – The great challenge) and the photography by Rachel Morrison (Black Panther), the docuseries is produced for Apple by XTR and New Slate Ventures in association with H. Wood Media and Delirio Films.
